I recently had problems with my remotes not working on my 2004 Toy Sequoia, I was initially told that it was the remotes. Turns out it was much more than that and required that the dealership keep my SUV for three to repair the problem. I left the dealership with only one new remote and doors that finally locked when you clicked the remote. I waited to be contacted when the other remote, on back order, finally arrived at the dealer. Once it did arrive I went to SIMPLY have that remote programmed and be on my way. Once I left the dealership with the second programmed remote, I then notice, that my passenger front door lock would not lock with the remote and had to take it back. It still had not been fixed and now I have to reach over to manually lock and unlock the passenger door. This is a security issue because the door want lock when I get out of the car leaving my SUV exposed to anybody who wants to hop in and wait for my return. Not to mentioned a HUGE inconvenience having to reach over to lock and unlock the door. I just can't understand why the doors/remotes on a $37K vehicle does not work properly!!!!!

Hi, the problem you are having is not with the remotes the problem you are having is with the central locking motor, this would not have failed due to the remotes not working as the other doors lock then this would rule out the remote being at fault as its only one sensor that picks up the signal then this locks all the doors.
the problem is with the central locking motor inside the door, it may just be that a wire has come loose or if you can hear it working but it dont lock then this means the motor unit will need replacing.

either way the whole door panel has got to come off so you can get to the motor and the wires.

let me know if you need further assistance ok

plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

2004 Toyota Sequoia. Driver door will not lock or unlock with remote. All other doors lock and unlock with remote, but not the driver door.

remote door lock basically unlocks and locks using air pressurized not wires or gears air pressure is directed from a little pump that compresses the air to shoot out the lock probably it is the air line not the pump itself

I just bought a 2005 Toyota Sequoia Limited. It has the original DVD Player that came with the car. I insert a DVD and can hear the sound but I don't see the DVD in the player in the back. Does anyone know...

as you hear the sound, means there is communication! double check video cable connection: you should be using 3 connectors cabling (Red, White and yellow). make sure same color for video both ends....good luck

I have a 2004 Toyota Sequoia and the VSC TRAC and TRAC OFF lights are on how can I fix this and what causes it. I recently Changed the Front Rotors and Break Pads, and Rear Break pads trying to remedy...

It's probably an O2 sensor. I've had the same issue with O2 sensors failing. Go to Autozone and have them read the code or buy a code reader for $40-60 and read the code yourself... it will tell you which one is bad.

2004 toyota sequoia front end shake

Replace the front rotors.
Refacing does not work on Sequoias. The metal removed to get the rotor "true" is usually below minimum safe thickness, and the vibration comes right back when it gets hot.
