K this means that your dash doesnt have constant power like it should and have to take out the speedometer assembly and check the red and yellow power wires make sure they are connected sounds like one is not probably the yellow belive it is the constant and this should stop seat belt problem to it prbly touching the seatbelt wire or grounding it out hope this helps also check and make sure your trip reset button is not stuck just for s/g

How do I reset airbag light on my 2009 polo comfortline

First off it is ******* to shut the light off due to liability issues.
If you have recently had a stereo install, that may have tripped the sensor. Any how the seat belt lock switches are also on the same circuit as the airbags. V.W. wants to make certain that the sensors and the seat belt lock switches are in place and operational before clearing the code. I've heard but not experienced that when the engine cycles on and off 200 times and there isn't any problems that it will reset itself. Like I stated, I don't know this to be factual. Good Luck

Check engine light on 2000 sienna went off when new battery was installed, then went back on

I forgot to mention. when you remove a battery, it resets the engine light, but the trouble part will cause it to come back on.

After you replace the trouble part, the auto parts places do not like to reset the light for you. You can either remove the battery connection for a few minutes to clear it after you fix it, or in many cases, just drive with the light on, and after a few hours/days/trips around the neighborhood, the system will see the part is now good, and it will reset on it's own.

You can buy a cheap ($50) basic OBD2 scan tool and follow the instructions on how to scan the computer yourself and also reset/clear the check engine light.

The plug is near your knees under the driver side dash... should be marked OBD

Engine service soon sign stayed on about a week ago why ?

The actual problem code will be stored in the computer as long as the battery is good, but whatever tripped it has probably not happened again, and as long as it has no new problems, the engine light will reset itself after you turn the key on and off so many times. For example, the truck got to hot, and tripped the engine light. After it cooled down you could cycle the key on-off-on-off 6 times and reset the computer. The problem is this does not fix the original problem, the over heating. Was it caused by a bad thermostat? A new one is $5, an overheated motor can warp the heads, ruining the $3,500 motor. I would have the truck hooked up to a computer, a good mechanic will tell you if it is something that needs fixed right away.

Driver seat belt worn half way thru .engine just started to idle high. door lights stay on,it is a 1992 4 dr hatch back w/70000 mi

I'm sorry, what is your question?

Your seat belt can be replaced - the seat belt has nothing to do with the engine idle, or the door light. The light stays on because the door switch needs adjustment or replaced or perhaps it has beenturned on by the light interior light switch that controls the dash board lights.

70,000 is not a lot of miles.

I suggest you have your vehicle tuned up aat a garage to fix the high idle and assure economical operation. That same mechanic may be able to advise you on the light and how to replace the seat belt. Your car may be running fast because of the cold weather to warm itself up. I dont know where you live.

Service engine soon light came on how do u turn it off got my timming belt replaced

A scan tool is the only way to reset the SES light. there may be a resean the light is on make sure to record all codes. I would take it back to the tech that serviced the van possibly something was left loose.

Airbag light stays on

This is common on the beetle. More than likely it's diagnostic trouble code 00591 E24.
It will need to be reset with vagcom or vcds software. A few known trouble areas on the beetle that trigger this light are the seat belt buckles and the wire connectors under the seat. I've seen the connectors get loose and not make contact, and in one case the wires severed from sliding the seat. You might check this before you clear and reset.
Good luck...i hope this helps.

Air Bag light stays on after engine starts.

You need access to VagCom (the diagnostic software from VW and Audi). You can download it free at, and buy the interface cable for your laptop on eBay for about $20. Or you can pay an hour's labor at a VW/Audi dealer to have them turn off the light.

What probably happened is similar to what happened in my 99 Audi A4. I have side airbags in the seats, and if the front seats are moved all the way back for any reason, it puts tension on the yellow airbag connector under the seat. That pulls it out just enough to open the contact and trip an airbag failure light. What I did was zip-tie the connector tightly (be very careful of the wires, as they're small and you don't want to pinch them), then use VagCom to turn off the light. Using the software is the only way to turn the light off - no ignition cycling or drive cycles, or number of miles driven, nor a battery disconnect, can reset the light.

Use VagCom to find out which airbag is giving you trouble, zip-tie its connector, and have the light turned off. Then you're set.

Air bag

You need diagnostic software that can scan for BMW codes other than engine codes. This will tell you which airbag is triggering the fault light. If you have side airbags that are built into the seats, like I do on my Audi A4, you may have the same issue that I do with mine - moving the seat a little too far pulls on the airbag connector under the seat, separating it just enough to trip the fault light. I zip-tied mine tightly to keep it from separating, and then used the diagnostic computer to turn off the light. Most of the time an airbag light will not reset itself - it has to be manually turned off using a scanner or other interface software and a computer. If you don't have this, you'll probably have to pay someone to do it for you, but make sure to find the suspect bag first and see what you can do to keep it from triggering a light again.
