Question about 2008 Chevrolet Equinox
These are daytime running lights. They run at lower voltage than your "nightime" lights, but use the same bulb.
I personally find them annoying.
More than likely your car was built in Canada where they are mandatory. In US they are not.
You can disable them by removing the relay (under hood) that says "DRL" . Look at fuse diagram in owner manual or under fuse cap.
