1990 CaPrice Classic. Where is the neutral safety switch located on a 1990 caprice classic please.

Information for the combined neutral safety switch and reverse switch, but you are guessing that it is the problem.

Diagnostics is the way to solve. I am not sure if it has an immobilizer, but you disconnected the battery. If there is an engine immobilizer, it needs to be reset.

This is the best way to fix it. An auto electrician with a pro grade scan tool computer. The "let's try replacing this" method of auto repair doesn't work and is expensive.

1999 cadilac devile neutral safety switch location ?

neutral safety switch is under the hood. Remove the air cleaner assembly, once the air cleaner is off, you can see the safety switch.

1990 olds 98 transission shifts hard when shifting in to gear from park and neutral. How to fix ? /

check transmission fluid level and condition. sounds like there may be a problem with the transmission shift drums/bands. these have a problem with the trans wearing out causing shift type problems. have the trans checked by a tranny shop.

Could be the starter solonoid ,the ign. switch,or possibly the neutral safty switch,have you tried starting in netural instead of park?

I have a 1999 fleetwood motorhome I cant start it . there is power to the starter but from the key to starter there is no power

There are two things to look at, the first is the neutral safty switch, try putting it in neutral and see if it starts, if it does then replace the switch, and the other is the ignition switch, the the cylinder but the switch in the column,i have seen these older trucks with worn shifters where you need to push it into park and hold it while you start it,good day

Truck starts in all ranges reverse and drive and I dont see a neutral safty switch on this 1985 chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 turbo 400 350 motor pick-up truck

the switch is located at the lower part of your steering column inside the interior cab area

if its an auto. check the reverse neutral safty switch it may be thinkin its in a gear and will not start

The neutral safety switch is located on the top and toward the base of the steering column almost to the floorboard.

To remove or install the neutral safety switch be sure to place the shifter in the neutral position, then dis-connect the wire connector at the neutral safety switch, then remove the securing screws and then remove the neutral safety switch.

Install the new neutral safety switch and do not over-tighten the securing screws, then remove the alignment pin and re-connect the wire connector to the neutral safety switch. (be sure not to remove the alignment pin until the neutral safety switch has been installed)

Check to be certain that the vehicle only starts in "Park" or "Neutral". Here is an image to help assist you, and let me know if you require any further assistance.
