I have a tt 02 44000 mls when do i need the timing belt changed

could be that belt was installed 1 tooth off. Check Web for videos about belt replacement.

Most belt companies will say 60,000 to 80,000 miles for timing belts.

timing is off, or cam was not set with top dead center set correctly

hi from uk the recommended ?? milage to change camshaft ? do you mean camshaft or camshaft timing belt ? if the belt ?? it is approx 80,000 mls or 4 years which ever comes 1st ? and the belt tensioner pully at 160,000 mls as for camshaft is it noisy/tapping ? hope this is info you require ?

When your tmming belt went dint that bend the valves.Do a comprestion test firstly.As this is a interferance engine.when the belt snaps the likely of valve to piston contact is very likely.Also change the camshaft sensor.

just fixed my Audi TT ... timing belt snapped so the head had to come off to replace valves. used dial guage on top of piston !
if head is on then there is a plug you can remove that allows you to see top dead center..
