Yes, but you will also need a source of 12 volts, like your car battery.
Or, you can test it in the car by listening for it to click while someone turns the ignition on.

I have a 1988 olds cutlis ceria 2.5 4 cyl does it have a fuel pump relay if not what does it have and where is that part I located

They usually do have a relay, under hood in fuse box. if you pull relay out and you have a test light or a multi meter with the key on you should have power on 90 and either 85 or 86. if its not switching when you crank engine over you can jump 30 and 90 that should power up your fuel pump

I have a 1988 ford f150 and have non power to the fuel pump

Sounds like the relay has gone bad (common problem on these trucks) there is no rebuild so you have to replace it (around $10) located under hood, passenger side, by air cleaner you'll see a bank of little "boxes" the fuel pump is the green one. Just go to your local parts store to get the replacement. You just unplug the old one, and plug in the new one. Do make sure the key is OFF when you do it.

How to replace fuel injectors on a 1988 olds cutlass ciera v6

There is a You Tube Video you can watch
on GM Throttle Body disassembly

I would mail them away for testing & ultra-sonic

Not likely the injectors are causing the dieing

Check for a worn timing chain & vacuum leaks

Fuel injector relay location on a 1988 oldsmobile cutlas ciera

There is no fuel injector relay. If your Cutlass Ciera is the TBI version (Throttle Body Injection), the injector is controlled directly by the ECM (Engine Control Module).

No service engine soon light olsmobile

Go to and register your vehicle for free. Once you do, you can get free wiring and fusebox diagrams for your car.

Then check the Relays for the ignition. You may be able to switch the horn relay for the important relay to test the car. Just note the numbers on the Relays to match them.

Check the Ignition switch, and fuseable link. The SES system like the rest, require power.

The radiator fan for a/c , toyota camry 88 do not work

check the fuses and relays for the fan under the bonnet in the main fuse box, try switching them around with another relay or fuse just to test out, if you still cant get anything use a test light or multi meter to check the wires going into the fan for continuity or voltage. follow the wires along to battery to check for breakages in it and connectivity on terminal.

New fuel filter and fuel pump installed but car still has fuel problems.

Check the fuel pressure regulator and check fuel pressure. Have you tested the fuel pump relay?

1988 cutlass ciera boggs down when i accelerate

Hello! You have symptoms that point to incorrect fuel pressure.
First have the fuel pressure tested as follows; #1...engine running at idle: 13- 20 psi. #2...key on engine off: 23-30 psi. If pressure is incorrect change the fuel pump.

Does the engine "surge" at idle? If so, check the "fuel injection pressure regulator idle air control valve". Apply a vacuum to it; If fuel flows it is not the problem.

Fuel pump replace /swap out and voltge testing

the only time you have 12 vdc is when u crank the engine. Maybe the fuel pump relay is faulty the coil for the relay is not strong enough to hold the contacts, try swapping or changing a new relay,
