The failure of the compass / ambient temperature display is a common issue with 2005 to 2009 Tacomas, and is unrelated to a fuse or other truck systems. However, we permanently fix the problem using all new components and a lead wire underlayment as a heatsink. See our site for more info: http://www.toyotatacomacompassrepair.com

Are your cruise control, dome, and tail lights also out? If so then it is a fuse. If not then the control unit has gone bad internally. You may be able to get it fixed under your warranty.

I have a 2007 Tacoma. Recently the compass/temperature display quit. I cannot determine which fuse controls this unit. I'm hoping it's the fuse. If not, how much do repairs/replacements cost. Thanks!

Is there a fuse for the overhead compass/temp dispaly for a 2006 Toyota Tacoma and where is it located?
The 10 amp IGI #2 fuse controls several other components including the dome light, cruise control, and brake lights. If these are working but the compass is dim, intermittent, or dead then the control module has gone bad. You can get a replacement from toyota but I believe it costs $500+.
