I also have a Echo and would suggest:
Air filter, spark plugs. If it is still sluggish I would then replace the upstream 02 sensor. The fuel filter is apparently lifetime so it should be okay.

SOURCE: Want to buy a 2001

If the engine oil is just low, and there are no apparent leaks around the cylinder head, timing belt area, camshaft seals, rear main seal, oil pan seal, etc., it's just a matter of adding the correct amount of oil or performing an oil and oil filter change. If seals or gaskets need to be replaced, this can become a big deal.

Steps to change the heater core on a toyota echo 2001

At the user end it is not possible to replace the heater core at home.
It requires to remove the complete dash board assembly, and many other relating parts and sub assemblies.
Better to get the job done by some workshop.

Hello, I have a 2000 Toyota Echo & just wanted to know what I need to do to tune it up. thanks

A 2001 echo a tune up , you will need sparkplugs , air filter , pcv valve and i would put some injector cleaner in the tank to help clean the fuel system, this cars fuel filter is inside the gas tank and is good for the life of the fuel pump and doesnt need replacing at this time,. take note that alot of the newwer toyotas use iridium sparkplugs, you will see a notice under the hood on a small sticker its sometimes located on valve cover or on radiator post warning you to use iridium plugs. i hope this helps, good day.

2001 Echo stalls when coming to a stop at stoplights etc. The Dealer could not replicate the problem, however it continues to happen.

this could be a fews things...Bad fuel or water in tank.. Replace fuel filter and put some high octane boost in the tank and fill up with 93 octane. You may need a tune up
