I'm re-attaching rear view mirror to windsheild- -
how do I release metal mounting plate from mirror mount so I
can glue just the metal plate to the glass?

If it has a timing CHAIN, I wouldn't bother replacing it until you need a valve job or engine rebuild. The timing chain should last quite a while, especially since it is being lubricated as the engine runs. However, if it has a timing BELT, at 116,000 miles, you're past due.
Remove the crankshaft pulley,the harmonic balance,with a puller made for this,then you can replace the sensor,and align it,if it is not aligned,it will break it.
it is the automatic load leveler that pumps air into the back shocks to level the car so it rides better when there are lots of people or weight in it. it is in the frontof the car opposite the battery, just disconnect it. had the same problem on my 1990 olds 98.
