The converter is located on exhaust system under rhe car about just under pass side door but more towards the middle of car. you should see a round pipe that has a heat shield under and around it. it's about 2 to 3 feet long and has welds or clamps on each end.hope this helps!!

Where are the catalytic converters located

There are only two catalytic converters. They are of a high efficiency type and as such, they are tucked on each side of the engine directly bolted to the exhaust manifolds. You won't see them easily from underneath the car as you would on most vehicles. Item #1 and #11 in the diagram below are the catalytic converters.

Have a 2002 Jag w/ 84,000 - engine light light on - code p1000 ( stopped at advanced auto ) - emissions ( converter ) there are 4 or 5 sensors - parts guy at a dealership mentioned that p1000 is a general...

P1000 normally is shown after the engine management light is reset.
When the light is on you should see other codes that will indicate which sensor(s) are faulty.
Most good mechanics have the equipment to read these codes and can give you a list (there may be multiple codes)
If you check out http://www.bluejag.co.uk you will find further information on this subject.

Need to replace catalytic converter on Jag 2002 X Type, aftermarket ones don't look alike the one on the car right now. Looking for pictures or drawing of the original one.

What you can do is ask for a direct fit converter.I don`t know if you can get them around where you are or if they are available for your vehicle. When I need to replace a converter I will get a direct fit one and it looks just like the one I am replacing. Also they are cheaper than the factory ones and I have not had any problems with them.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Stuck hood on 2002 jag S type

Try and bump the top of the engine or just have some one hold the release latch and lift up on the engine until it pops open.
