Disconnect the hoses at the pump. When the hoses are disconnected, secure the ends in a raised position to prevent leakage. Cap the ends of the hoses to prevent the entrance of dirt.

Cap the pump fittings.

Loosen the belt tensioner.

Remove the pump drive belt.

Remove the pulley with a pulley puller such as J-29785-A.

Remove the following fasteners:
-
6-4.3L, 8-5.0L, 8-5.7L engines: front mounting bolts
-
8-7.4L engine: rear brace
-
8-6.2L/6.5L diesel: front brace and rear mounting nuts
-
Lift out the pump.
To install:
-
Observe the following torques:
-
6-4.3L, 8-5.0L, 8-5.7L engines, front mounting bolts: 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm)

8-7.4L engine, rear brace nut: 61 ft. lbs. (82 Nm); rear brace bolt: 24 ft. lbs. (32 Nm); mounting bolts: 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm)

8-6.2L/6.5L diesel, front brace: 30 ft. lbs. (40 Nm); rear mounting nuts: 17 ft. lbs. (23 Nm).

Install the pulley with J-25033-B.

Install the drive belt.

Install the hoses.
-
Fill and bleed the system.
