I have a 2008 saturn sky. When I put the top up the fabric on the passengers side always gets pinched in the frame and I have to keep pulling it out. Is this a common problem. Can it be resolved.

I had the same problem. Check for a tear on the underside of the top..,directly underneath where the fabric gets pinched. It's most likely torn from the metal piece that has popped out of the rubber shroud. Every time you open and close the top, this part rubs...eventually tears...and then pinches when you try to close the top back.

Solution --

1. Bend the metal back into place (hammer if necessary).
2. Glue a piece of velcro (fuzzy side up) to cover the exposed metal (gorilla glue works nice..but don't use too much!!)
3. Glue a piece of vinyl to the underside of the top (covering the rip)...use a good, flexible-type contact cement and let it sit for a couple of days to allow proper adhesion.
4. The velcro will slide on the vinyl and...no more pinched top!

Thermostat location

It should be at the end of the radiator hose coming from the top of the radiator back to the engine, look for where the hose meets the engine. That thing that the hose is attached to, unbolt it. The thermostat is under it. Make sure that you clean all the old gasket off both the gooseneck and engine. Use sealant to seal the gasket, follow the directions. Make sure the spring side of the new thermostat faces into the engine, and make really sure that you prefill the engine with fluid BEFORE you put the thermostat on.

How do i remove the fuse box pannel for a 2008 Saturn Aura. The panel is on the passenger side of the lower counsel. I cannot get it to come off, and do not want to break anything.

You just pull on it - it takes a lot force. It's best to start at one side and just go for it. It'll also take quite a bit of pounding to put it back in place.

2008 Saturn Sky Redline - starting issues. If I

I have the same problem, found that when it rains heavy or I wash the Saturn Sky; water runs down over the computer under the hood on the driverside. There is a drain port just above the computer so water runs down through the drain port onto the computer wiring shorting out this computer, when the wiring dries out the electrical problems are fixed. but the water can do damage to the computer which comtrols the radio and many other electronics inthe Saturn Sky. I know this because this happened to me. after washing my Sky all the electronics went crazy, found the water on my computer wiring. after a couple of times of the wiring shorting out the radio started comming on by its self while the car was shut off causing the battery to die over night. What a crazy place to put a drain port over top of a computer and its wiring. A cover needs to be made and placed over the top of the computer to prevent this from happening again. If you are having a problem getting GM to fix the problem; wash the car using a garden hose and let alot of water run down over the window on the driverside so the water can run down the water port under the hood onto the computer and wiring, this should create the same problem then take it back to the GM dealer and show them the water problem. They can then refuse to correct the problem. Good Luck. O yes one other problem you need to know about, if you don't have mud flaps on the front wheels the paint will chip real bad on the rear lower quater pannels and it will cost you a good dollar to have it repainted.

Location of motor mounts on 94 saturn sl1 where are they and how do you replace them? (all of them) or at least the major ones

There are four total mounts.

1. Upper engine mount located on the passenger side of the engine. Get this at the dealer, aftermarket, especially Anchor brand are garbage.

2. Lower engine mount, often refered to as a "dog bone" mount because of its shape. This one is located on the lower passenger side. You'll have to remove some splash shields to get to it. Aftermarket is OK.

3. Upper transmission mount, also refered to as a "dog bone" mount. Located under the battery.Aftermarket is OK.

4. Lower transmission mount. Located under the transmission. As with the top engine mount, dealer is better quality.

The two dogbone mounts usualy last a very long time, its the others that fail over time. Especially the upper one.

Convertible top sticks, will not fully open

The support bar right above your head has 2 elastic bands attached to it, one on the drivers side and one on the passenger side. After time they lose their elasticity and don't pull this bar (the one with the top attached to it) down when you retract. If it doesn't pull down, it will stay up (forward) as the frame retracts and get jammed up in the rest of the frame. Worst case it will pop the metal clip which holds the center of the cloth top to it (it is the length of the bar and spot welded to it) off. It will also put holes in your top on both sides as they don't fold down under and instead get crimped in the frame. Temp solution is to push that bar down as it retracts. Permanent solution is to repair the elastic sooner than later before it wrecks havoc with the whole frame and motor.
