My 2002 dodge stratus is acting like it is missing out or spuddering. I have changed the spark plugs and after doing so it ran really well for awhile then started doing the same thing again?

You may have a bad coil pack. They are located on top of the spark plugs. If a coil pack is bad then if will miss as well as you could loose gas milage and performance.

I have a 2001 Dodge Stratus and awhile ago I switched the plugs to a Autolite plug. Then I decided there might a problem and went back to the Champion plugs.

I believe the factory originals are champion brand, and would have been platinum, but it should still run decent with the coppers. The only thing I can think of is they are of the wrong gap. Copper plugs do not come pre- gapped at all and need to be done by installer. The gap for your stratus, if it's a 4 cylinder is .050. Wrong gap will cause no power and shaking. Correct champion number in copper is #443, and should say that on the box/plug.

My 2002 dodge stratus ran hot lost pressure of a hose and want crank after repair

Well you need a few things for an engine to run. Spark , Fuel, and Air..to start. Assuming that the plugs are the correct ones, and all the wires are connected properly & that the distributor cap was installed properly (AND SET IN TIME correctly). I would have to lean towards maybe a warped head. But there a quite a few variables that need to be eliminated before you can really begin to start down the road with a diagnosis. Good Luck

Check to see if coil is firing when car stalls may be overheating and not sending spark to plugs once it cools off it will fire again

My stratus acts like it has a miss but its not could this be the fuel regulator

The 'miss' could be attiributed to a misfire. If you have a SES light it would be nice to know the code. A misfire will usually send a P030X code (X=cylinder) indicating the need fr new plug wires. If no SES, it points to fuel delivery and the injectors would be the next stop.

2002 Dodge Stratus R/T Spark Plugs

Tom,
The spark plugs for that vehicle is Champions. Not anything fancy, just a resistor copper core plugs. DO NOT INSTALL DOUBLE OR SINGLE PLATINUM PLUGS. No bosch, no splitfire, nothing but the champion plug.

ANy other plug and you will start have random misfire codes and other "weird little problems".

I have been a shop owner for years and I tell you this because i have fixed weild little problems just by installing the correct plug. ]
You should change the plugs every 30K miles as well. Look in your owners manual and it should tell you your service schedule
Good luck

2002 Dodge Stratus Spark plugs

the spark plugs are probably in the same place they've always been in...(sorry).

you probably have a cover over the motor and that will have to be removed to see where everything is.

the fuel injector track is one track with wires
when you replace wires you also want to replace the injectors to match
buy new engine wire harness this will solve the problem
