Honda CRV 2007 Diesel PGM-FI Light comes on whenever a trailer is connected to the towing electric hook up, have a feeling it is something to do with a poor ground on the trailer as it has happend numerous times now. First time was with a boat trailer, fount bad connection but had to take car to Honda to get ECU reset, happend again when i had purchased and was towing home a caravan again found fault repaired but this time the PGM-FI fault reset itself after a couple of hours with the car switched off and locked. This time, towing a caravan for a friend of mine light has come on but will not switch off. Am aiming to take car back to honda again for a reset. Any help welcome.

I also have made similar experience with my CRV-2007. I made the warning light disappear by taking off the battery power for some hours, starting up and driving a short tour with the car.

Location of the computer control rely for 2003 Honda CRV

The '03 Honda CR-V has two main relays; PGM-FI Main Relay 1 and PGM-FI Main Relay 2. Both main relays are located behind the right side of the dashboard near the glove box. After the glove box is removed, you should see two rows of relays. The main relays are in the row closest to the glove box at the far end towards the driver's side. Based on my experience, it would be very abnormal for even one of these relays to have failed let alone both. If there is a power distribution problem I would lean more towards a possible electrical ignition switch failure as this is fairly common in these older Honda vehicles. You can read more about ignition switch failure symptoms here: https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-ignition-switch

I hae drove to work this morning and a light has come on on the dashboard. it says pgm-fi. what does this mean? my car is a honda CRV 2009.

easy peasy cheezy
it means in modern words, ECM/PCM the engine controls.
or even more simple, the Electronic Fuel Injection system controller.
or engine puter, or engine brain.... to others.
if in USA?, its OBD2 car, (not 1 post ever for country here) odd....

and all 96' and newer cars here in USA ,we connect a scan tool
any $9 scan tool works. (new)

if not in usa, then say so, as other countries use different systems.

2007 tail light fuse location honda crv

I had this problem with my 2007 Honda CRV -- all the lights worked EXCEPT the tail/running lights and the license plate light. The other tail lights worked -- brake, reverse, indicators, and hazards. Front headlights also worked, but when the headlights went on the back tail lights did not (not to safe for driving at night!!)
The fuse was #15 in the interior fuse box (under the dash driver side) with the label "small exterior lights" ( also check fuse #19 labeled "small lights main"). The cause of my problem, I believe, is a bad or lose wire in my license plate light.

I need the to know which fuse goes to What in my Honda fit 2008

PGM-FI main relay 1 (FI MAIN) is energized whenever the ignition switch is ON (II) to supply battery voltage to the ECM/PCM, power to the injectors, and power for PGM-FI main relay 2 (FUEL PUMP). PGM-FI main relay 2 (FUEL PUMP) is energized to supply power to the fuel pump for 2 seconds when the ignition switch is turned ON (II), and when the engine is cranking or running.

TOWING WITH CAR TODAY 2 MESS CAME ON DASHBOARD PGM-FI TSA ON INHOOKING TSA WENT AFTER 3 RESTARTS PGM STAYS ----TRAILER ELECTRICS PROBS???

Hi Ian,
Take the vehicle and have a scan carried out. It sounds as if the transmission over heated and maybe there could be a problem with the lighting system of the trailer. A scan will tell you the problem areas and what needs attending to.
How about a rating?

Tow plug

I take it the blinkers and brake lights work ok when not hooked up to the trailer? If yes, then the wiring to the tow hitch is not hooked up correctly. How many wires to trailer pig tail connection? U can have up to 7 depending on what you tow. Check to make sure these wires are hooked up from the truck to tow plug correctly: 7 wired---
brown-Rt turn and brake light, yellow-backup, white-ground, blue-electric brake, green-tail running lights, black-battery charger, red-left turn signal and brake light. Let me know if u have something other than 7 wire, I'll get the wiring color and source info for u.
