I want to know where my coolant sensor is located

Hello,

The coolant sensor in the 2000 ford taurus is located on the bottom of the coolant reservoir.

You will see two wire connector protruding towards the fender-side.

It is built into the reservoir tank bottom so if it needs a rplacement the whole unit has to be replaced.

Thanks for using fixya.

Where is the coolant temp sensor on a 2000 ford taurus

just to the right of the thermostat. there are two similar looking sensors side by side. Match up the wire connection on the new ECT sensor to the existing sensor. This will help you determine which of the two sensors is the correct. Then you can remove the faulty sensor and replace.
