The Spark Plugs are located under the Coil Pack in the Cylinder Head. You need to remove the silver cover on the front part of the engine which are held down by Allen Bolts to access the Coil Pack. You will need to remove the two bolts holding the Coil Pack to the Cylinder Head. Pull up on the Coil to remove the Coil and inside the hole will be the Spark Plug. The rear part of the engine next to the firewall has no cover so you will need to just remove the Coil Pack. The Nissan Maxima is very picky about the brand of Spark Plugs you replace them with, You should only use NGK Platinum Plugs or Better in your Maxima, Any other brand will make your car run rough.

1999 Nissan Maxima wont turn over. It cranks, but wont start. It isnt the battery cause its new. My friend said it may be an electrical problem or fuel pump. How can i determine if i am getting a spark? My...

Need three (3) things for an Internal Combustion Engine to run, FUEL, COMPRESSION, & IGNITION. To check spark, pull a plug wire and connect to a spark plug that is sitting on a metal (grounded) surface and crank the engine over. You should see a spark on the plug. If there's no spark present you have narrowed it down to an Ignition Problem, but there's still a mulitude of potential problems that'd cause that. Fuel injected engines do require much more fuel pressue than carb'd engines, so that may need to be checked (external fuel pressure gage) if there is a spark present.

How do you change the the sparks plugs in a 1999 nissan maxima

Best to disconnect only one plug wire at a time, so as not to get the wires crossed. You will locate the first plug, follow the wire and disconnect the wire from the plug. Since access is limited on this car, It will be necessary to use a series of extensions, probably different on different plugs to get to the plug. Use a plug socket with a rubber insert so as not to damage the insulators upon replacement. The plugs have a compression ring seal so you will not need to overtighten. Good Luck! I hope you find this to be very helpful!
