I have a electrical problem on a 1985 jeep grand wagoneer 360 engine. after shipping to alaska the radio stopped working theirs only static the engine dies unexpectedley the clock luminates ownley when the head lights turned on. I have replaced the ignition swich, the brain box on fender well checked radio connections new starter & starter silinode removed the fues block connector under hood an reconnected hoping for connection problem removed instrament panel checked for loose wires missing connections preplexing dont know where to look? died in intersection heavy push starts some times right back up defentley electricle Any ideas Helpful thanks

You need to get your hands on an electrical schematic for that vehicle everything you need to see will be there sounds like it might be a fuseable link i think there is 2 coming off the solenoid its also possible its the ignition switch ( electrical switch ) on the steering column . hope this helps

You'll need to figure out if you are loosing fuel or spark to proceed. it could be a relay or several other components.

Jeep 360 rattle sound at idle in park

it could be a wrist pin, and im not sure if those amc's had hydraulic lifters but sometimes with old lifters when the oil pressure is lower at an idle the lifters arnt filling up all the way so they develope a little valve lash, and when the rpms are raised the oil pressure raises and fills the lifters. you could try chasing the noise down with an automotive stethoscope.

no jeep will always work on your car.. do you have a cat installed... because if you dont that could be a huge problem right there... excessive fuel consumption i could only think is because you are running rich.. this can cause misfire... i would go to jeep...

1985 jeep wagoneer dash lights and tail lights are not working can not find the fuse

hello pep4u2 ;

it is labeled on the fuse box ,

INST LPS = dash lights 5 amps #9 on the fuse box .

PARK LPS = tail lights 10 amps #7 on the fuse box .

if you have a test light , check em all for kicks.
