If it has a 4T40 trans it dosn't have one you have to pull the 7/16 plug out by the passenger axle the fill it up by the red or black cap on top of the trans til it runs out the plug hole on the bottom. I know thanx GM hope this helps.

1996 chevy Cavalier, where is the transmission located? It seems to be leaking transmission fluid

Your transmission is bolted to the back of the engine. (it's big). What you need to do is actually look underneath and find the source of the leak (could be a cooling line or a seal) If it's a line you can replace it. If it's a seal, that's more complicated but you could try lucas transmission conditioner to stop the leak or slow it down. (conditioner is added through the dipstick tube...if you can't find it you man not have one...then you will need someone to show you where the fill plug is).

I can't find where to put my transmission fluid in my 98 chevy cavalier. Please help.

On the cavaliers the transmission fluid does not have a separate fill location from the Check stick. To fill this just take a long funnel and fill it in the dipstick check hole

How to check transmission fluid in 2000 cavalier no dipstick or fill tube

It has a plug in the end of the case by the passenger side cv shaft. Start the engine and remove the plug. Fill the trans thru the fill cap until oil runs from the hole. Let me know if you need more info. The transmission is a 4T40E Right? 4 speed?

Wanting to know where to add the transmission fluid to a 2003 Chevy Cavalier Automatic

Automatic transmission fluid is added at the dipstick tube. Remove dipstick from tube, wipe and reinsert while engine hot and running at idle, park or nutral ok. Add 1/4 quart at a time in same tube untill fluid level is at full mark. Do not mistake engine oil dip stick for transmission stick.

Where is the transmission Fill plug on a 2005 chevy equinox?

There is no fill plug on transmission pans, you have to fill them from the
dipstick tube in the engine bay. Get a long funnel that will fit into the
dipstick tube hole, and then fill it that way. Make sure you turn the
vehicle on while filling it, and put it through all the gears, with your foot
on the brake. This will make sure your torque convertor is being properly
filled, along with the trans. Good luck.

Where is the transmission fluid filler on ford fiesta 1996 auto

You need a medium-sized funnel; or a specially-designed transmission fluid filler funnel with a short hose attached to it (at Auto parts store for $5)... use a medium-sized funnel....

The filler tube is the same as the transmission dipstick tube.
Check the fluid level with the engine running, in park.
before adding fluid, turn off engine.

Insert the funnel into the tansmission dipstick tube, slowly pour in fluid (slowly!)..

In an emergency, you can make a funnel with paper or cardboard or sheet of plastic. ... and maybe duct tape...

Hope this helps!

I have a 1997 Chevy Cavalier. It doesn't have a dipstick to check the transmission fluid level. Is there another way to check this?

There's a fill plug on the right side of the unit that works just like the ones on stickshift transmission...fill on level ground 'till fluid just spills from plug opening.

Tranny fluid

I am guessing it's an Automatice and you use a DEXTRON III. You'ld be able to fill it through the Transmission dipstick tube, becareful not to over fill. Good luck
