Location of VSS and how to get to it on a 98 Ford Taurus. Disregard the yr i give in the video. I have 2 other ...
I would start by making sure the harness was not pinched during the install of the tank. I believe the FPMD is under the rear right seat or on that side, in the trunk.
Check in your trunk on left ( drivers side) see if emergancy shut down has been triped. it is a red button just push it in If this was helpful please leave good feed back
i recently had this issue with my 2001 taurus dohc engine. when you drive it seems that everything is fine. when you stop, the car will idle very low and somethimes shut off. there is a hose under the throttle body that is attached to the pcv valve. over time, this hose will collapse and eign to tear. i replace that hose (autozone for $10) and it solved my idling problem.
I would check fuses and relays first..Check the voltage coming off the alternator on the big red wire,,instead of across the battery..Some cars still use a fusible link..You would no that if you have charging voltage at your alternator but not at the battery..Should be 14.0 volts or close to it..with no load
wikipedia has great info on the ford engines.
Also look for sites that talk about taurus and their engines and putting them into rangers.
Cannot remeber the exact.
its in the timing ...whenever you start it it sits and idles fine but when you go to put it in gear it dies...the timing needs to be repaired. its a guaranteed solution.
