Have AC drained, remove serp belt, jack up car and remove lower front access panels, unplug wiring , remove 13or 15mm bolt from manifold lines on back of compressor, remove the 4 mounting bolts.
Depends on what kind of noise and where its coming from. Could be a problem inside the compressor, or the ac clutch, or something else. Did you get a warranty with the compressor ?
Check the level switch at the back of the car - this turns the compressor on and off as the ride height changes. It may have come loose, is stuck or faulty.
A sensor would turn the compressor on and off all the time. If it stays running you most likley have a weak compressor. Signs are not cooling at idle and cools better while driving but not cold as it should be. An
ac gauge set will tell if it is bad.
There are two fans behind the radiator. One is suppose to begin running
when the AC is turned on. The other is to cool the radiator when it
gets too warm. Raise the hood with the engine running and AC "on"and
see if at least one fan is running.
