Has began cutting off in midmotion. Have put fuel treatment in gas tank & premium fuel. Need to know if there is a fuel filter that might need replacing & if so how to replace one & the cost.
Re: Has began cutting off in midmotion. Have put fuel
If it were the fuel filter you would feel the engine starving for fuel. If it just cuts out its not a filter. Its most likely a fuel pump or one of three ignition parts. Only testing will reveal the faulty prt unles you just want to throw parts at this.

Fuel treatment would be your cheapest option by far. Give it a shot, paying attention to the directions on the bottle. You certainly can't hurt anything by trying it.
You could try another fuel filter and some heavy duty injector cleaner. A garage would use a product that hooks into the fuel line and skips the gas tank to clean the injectors. The PS fluid could have also gummed up the fuel pump in the tank.
Sounds like you possibly got bad gas, or your at the bottom level of your gas tank and got the nasty stuff. Try running a good fuel treatment through the system and fill it up with premium gasoline from Marathon
it has probably picked up some trash and or water that was laying in the bottom of the tank since water is heavier than gas that is where it will stay. the water or trash has probably made it to the injectors and is floating around and i would try to put some put some fuel treatment in and try some treatment to put in the tank to get rid of the water and next a fuel injection service or to maybe save some money drive it a while if it will run good enough so you do not get run over to see if it clears up.or you might just want to take to a mechanic you can trust to determine what the problem is.the place that you got gas at could have had water in there tanks and might not be something that you did i have seen this quiet often. if i can help you any futher let me know and give futher details how the car is acting.......good luck and i hope this info helped you........
hey it may be a simple thing! i would start at this, add lucas fuel treatment to gas tank to clean your fuel injectors, ask this question? truck been setting long time? more than 2months? if so most likely ,,bad gas if setting that long, also try CLEAR AND I REPEAT!!! CLEAR AND NOT GREEN rubbing alcohol 1 one whole bottle be added to fuel tank with at east 4 gallons of gas and drive for 25 miles to clean the injectors and to clean the fuel lines and the fuel lines. most very likely, this will take care of your spatter.hope this helps!
dirty fuel fiter, yes. But also certain models require mid or premium grade gasoline. regular unleaded has more water in it than premium. Hense the pinging. When was the last time you have your fuel injectors cleaned. Try adding a gas treatment like STP gas treatment/fuel injector cleaner, that should help. If it continues then its the fuel filter or the fuel pump is also going out.
it could be a bad belt or signs that the fuel pump is getting weak put some STP gas treatment in the gas tank make sure you have at least a half a tank of gas before you do this ask yourself when was the last time you changed the fuel filter
