I have a 1998 Tacoma and each power outlet quit working months a part and then the cigarette lighter quit working; all after using a small air compressor. There is no acc fuse under the dash nor in the engine compartment. I have checked all the Power Outlet and cig fuses with a meter all are good. I have also checked for power at the fuse and there is 12 volts there but no power at the power outlets nor cigarette lighter. I also swapped the Power Outlet relay with a known good relay and same problem. What is the solution?

SOURCE: Cigarette lighter sockets no power

Cell phone chargers commonly blow the fuses at the power points. It seems that our charger adaptors do not match the socket properly, and the positive part of the charger hits the negative of the socket, resulting in a blown fuse. If you have a charger, and it works, leave it in the socket. Don't take it with you. Repeated insertions of the adaptor to the socket magnifies this issue.

SOURCE: No power to cigarette lighter/power outlet (front & rear)..

Replace the 15 amp ACC fuse that is in the fusebox under the dash. See if this eliminates your problem.

SOURCE: cig lighter fuse blew. renewed but cig lighter and remote key not

you probably didnt change the right fuse and had another one blown at the same time you also could have a primary fuse under the hood that blew. once fixed dont use pump again. not same amps drawn

The cigarette lighter fuse for a Chevrolet City Express LT is located in the Engine Compartment Fuse Box. The location of the fuse box varies depending on the year of the vehicle. For instance, in 2003-2007 models, the cigar lighter (power outlet) fuses are numbered 29 (Auxiliary Power Outlets) and 30 (Cigarette Lighter). In 2008-2009 models, they are numbered 33 (Auxiliary Power Outlet) and 38 (Cigarette Lighter). In 2010-2022 models, they are numbered 25 (Auxiliary Power Outlet) and 73 (Cigarette Lighter).

Which fuse is allocated to the cigarette lighter? I initially thought it was the PDC Coils fuse, number 11, but when I switched that with a definitely working fuse, there was no change. Currently, I...

cigarette lighter is fuse #5
however, if that is ok then check the lighter/accessory relay

as for your power outlet...
I've searched a few different models and
cannot find that information

the power outlet might be a dealer add-on or aftermarket at which point power supply could be coming from anywhere

Fuses

The cigarette lighter is controlled by the 15 amp ACC fuse. This same fuse allows the Power Outlet Relay to power up. I would think that this fuse is your issue. Hope this helps, and Thanks for selecting FixYa to solve your question.
