I have a nissan 1400 champ and is leaking oil on the front part of the manual 5 speed gearbox and the rear part of the gearbox. I have replaced the crankshaft oil seal but i still have oil leaking on

There are seals on the front and rear of the transmission. If the clutch wasn't covered in engine oil, then replacing the crankshaft seal wasn't necessary. Reseal the transmission.

Which transmission oil to use in a terrano 1996

Being that we have the Nissan Pathfinder (closest vehicle here), which like my 2001 Nissan Xterra uses Nissan Matic-D, you can use a Nissan Matic-D (or J), or a compatible fluid such as Valvoline MaxLife or Castrol TransMax Import Multi-Vehicle

The transmission is leaking in front and middle of the engine. What is the problem and how can I fix it

could be your gearbox seals.Check if the front one is gearbox oil or engine oil.If it is engine oil then could be your rocker cover seals..oil from the top travelling down, sump gaskits or crank shaft seals. The direction of travels pushes oil towards the rear and sometimes we think that the leak is on the rear somewhere whereas it could be in the front.

Leaky transfer case or gearbox. Oil covering front diff.

If the front differential is covered with oil, chances are that the leak is from the pinion seal on the diff itself or from an engine leak. check all the fluids and find what is low and clean off all the residue there so you can find the source. Since the t case is behind the diff, and the air flow is towards the rear (unless you drive backwards all day long) any leaks would tend to blow towards the back, not towards the front.Once you find the actual leak source, someone here can help advise you on how the repair can be made.

1996 Trooper with pretty decent rear main leak. Can this be repaired without pulling the engine? Also not holding oil pressure, I assume the leak is the issue as I see no other problems but open to...

Bad leak at the rear main wont give you low oil engine pressure ,its sign that the main bearings are worn or the thrusts .
Check the crank pulley end float and lift first but the main can be done in place drop the gearbox and flywheel.

My toyota vienta 3VZ-FE 1996 - oil leak onto exhaust

Hi,

That engine will leak oil from

- cam cover gaskets (rear one drips on the exhaust)
- camshaft end seals
- distributor shaft o-ring (appears on top of transaxle housing)
- oil filter bracket to block o-ring seal (drips on front bank exhaust)
- crankshaft nose oil seal (have done with timing belt change)
- rear main seal (expensive, leave it be)

Oil leaking between the gearbox and engine???

Hi,
The main reason for the oil leakage is most probably due to the rear crankshaft seal.
First thing to do is check the engine breather is clear. You can clean it with isopropyl alcohol and dry with a heat gun.

I need to refill my gearbox oil of my 1996 model nissan sentra

I assume its a standard transmission.
Should be a threaded plug on the top of trans , or 1/2 way up on the side.
If auto trans , add fluid through dipstick tube.
