We have a 1984 motorhome with a Chevy 454 in it. Where is the fuel pump located? My brother-in-law says its not in the fuel tank, but he can't see it.

Hi,

your fuel pump on this unit is located on the bottom of the front right side of your engine. Contrary to what is being used today, they then used mechanical pumps that were attached directly to the engine. Follow the gas line to that area and you'll see it. It's attached by two bolts. I hope this helps you in time.

They found and replace the fuel pump, the alternator and now we need a new valve.
This valve is located near the gas tank, and diverts gas from the engine to the generator.
Anyone know where we can find one, we should be able to run the generator and the engine at the same time.

They usually dont put fuel pumps any where else but the fuel tank. My guess would be that if he cant see it then its in the fuel tank

Fuel pump location 2003 condor r-vision 454 chevy with workhorse chassie

I would think it is located in the fuel tank like everything else regardless of what body is on it. It should be a whole submerged module (pick up, pump and gauge sender)

Were can i find the fuel pump and filter in a 1984 chevy g30 motorhome?

You may have a mechanical fuel pump, usually located at front lower part of engine. Follow fuel line back from Carburetor. If fuel injected, it will be in gas tank.

I have a 1984 class c motorhome on a ford e350 frame. I have no fuel at the carb. I pulled the output line on the electric fuel pump in the rear of the vehicle. ran the pump; no gas. I pulled the input...

I know this might sound odd but try replacing the ignition switch. I have a 86 c class e 350 and could not get the front fuel pump to run for the longest time. After changing everything else, I decided to change the ignition switch, and believe it or not the front pump came on and started working the way it is supposed to.

Fuel pump push rod

I would use something like the fuel pump listed here, this is a good performance fuel pump that will be able to feed that 454 engine, it comes with a fuel pressure regulator and you can either use a fuel gauge to set the fuel pressure or install an in-line fuel gauge near the carburetor to easily check and monitor the fuel pressure, and set the fuel pressure regulator for 7psi of fuel pressure, and any more fuel pressure than that and the fuel could be pushed past the needle and seat inside the carburetor.
