I did a oil change on my 1994 gmc suburban w/5.7L and it started leaking oil on the back of the motor by the intake and the brass fitting for the oil pressure sensor. It is a steady leak and will lose all oil in a 100 miles. Has anyone had this happen before and/or does anyone have a solution?

OK, does it appear that the oil pressure sensor is leaking through the plastic to metal seam (on the sensor itself)?

Have had an oil pressure sending unit go bad and leak on a 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais that needed to be replaced.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION C1500 Suburban 1994

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and drain the engine oil.
  2. Disconnect the sensor electrical lead and unscrew the sensor. The sensor can be found on the top side of the engine, near the distributor. To install:
  3. Coat the first two or three threads with sealer. Install the sensor and tighten until snug. Engage the electrical lead.
  4. Connect the battery cable and fill the engine with oil.

I further investigated the problem and I believe that it is leaking out of the silicone gasket form the intake. They only have true gaskets between the heads and the intake and silicone the intake to the block. It just so happened to be leaking next to the brass fitting for the oil pressure sensor. Thank you for your time Duane.

Oh, ok, so you found another oil leak at the silicon gasket from the intake. Leaks can happen anywhere, I suppose. Good work.

94 GMC Suburban. Replaced intake manifold, now runs poorly.

You may not have sealed the manifold correctly, mistakes like using the rear and front rubber seals can cause this instead of a bead of silicone. To check for intake leaks spray carb spray along the intake gasket to see if the engine changes tone or idle speeds, if it does you have a leak,.

I have a 1994 Chevy 2500 4x4 350 engine with an oil cooling system. I'm trying to change the line that is leaking. On the end that goes into the brass fitting, I have the plastic clip, and a plastic...

you need to replace the whole fitting that the line goes into. (brass fitting) they are inexpensive and the best way to fix it.. the seals are not supposted to come out.

1994 gmc back left tire break leak

Most likely rellted to the rear wheel cylinder. You need to remove the tire, probably replace the brake shoes if they are wet with fluid, wipe down brake drum with carb or brake cleaner, install new wheel cylinder and put everything else back together. Wheel cylinder is available through most auto parts outlets. Probaby less than $15.

1994 subburban.5.3Lthink maybe got a bad intake gasket

these engines are known for intake gasket leaks and head gasket leaks.

Do a search on dextron gm coolant ( the orange looking stufff)

This coolant is very corrosive and GM has had lots of complaints.

Best bet is to go have yout truck inspected.

1999 suburban usung a lot of antifreeze

Some of the V-8 engines like to leak out the back of the intake manifold. It then drips onto the exhaust and evaporates so you never see it, you just smell it. Look for it back there. You may want to have the system pressure checked too. If it is leaking out the intake, it is not an easy or cheap fix. I just did my 96 Yukon and it was not fun.
Good Luck and hope this helps.

1998 lincoln towncar coolent leak

look at the brass tube fitting at the back of the intake that heater hose hooks to ,it will usually crack at the intake around that fitting. If so intake will have to be replaced.
