I have a 2004 Nissan Sentra and I need new struts. The cheapest quote to replace them is $476. I've done minor car repairs before: flush the radiator install car stereo etc. Is this something I could resonably expect to be able to do myself or should I leave this one to the professionals?
i am totally up for doing it myself. I just don't want to take on a project that is easy to screw up and result in me getting in a car wreck

If it too low perform a induction flush to remove carbon build-up. Find a shop that uses BG products as they are the best. Also the base idle will need reseting after.
Your belt may be loose and not turning the water pump enough to circulate the coolant causing it to run hot, crank car up, have some one press gas pedal and watch belt turn,if not turning tightly, then belt or tensioner is bad.
some people put ground water in ther systems this hurts and can lead to build up of sediment. if your car is an older model an overhaul means the entire system, "everthing" if its new though my mom had a sentra and that thing was piece so consider that when purchasing a new or (er) car
hi, most of the time when these lights come on, its because of some sort of sensorfailure. if you are not experiencing any noises or tapping in the engine compartment, this is only a failed sensor. you will have to get it diagnosed by the computer to know what specific sensor it may be. i suspect maybe a O2 sensor or egrvalve. this is minor but, you Will need to get this repaired if possible.
then the water pump must be bad in it .Take the rad cap off and rev motor up if it goes down the the pump is working if it spays of look at the head gasket being damaged .Check and make sure spark plugs are not wet either if one is soaked signs of a leaky head gasket
You can buy motor flush at most auto parts stores and use according to instructions and do it yourself or bring to a repair shop that has an engine flush equipment and have it done.
