Hi!!

Cabin air filter is available as an optional dealer installed kit. If a filter is already installed, it is located under the right side of the instrument panel on the HVAC housing. Trim panel may have to be removed to gain access to filter.

Parts Needed:

cabin2-small.jpg cabin3-small.jpg cabin4-small.jpg
Instructions: (Click images to Enlarge)
  1. Stop the windshield wipers when they are in the up position. Since the filter will be placed on the passenger side, this will make it easier to access the panel.
  2. In the center of the windshield, there is a small plastic circle piece. Pry it off with the flathead screwdriver, and set it aside in a safe place. Remove the screw you have uncovered. (See picture) This will make it easier to remove the panel you are about to remove.
  3. There are 3 plastic locking clips holding the cover down. Use your flathead screwdriver to GENTLY pry them up. Once they are up, give the whole piece a little tug up and to the left. You will see the slot where the filter goes.
    • BE CAREFUL!!!! Everything is made of plastic, and everything can break. Take your time, and don't get frustrated.
  4. In this slot, there is an eggcrate style plastic piece retaining the space where your filter is about to be placed. Pull up and out on it to remove it. You will not need this piece, so you can discard it, or keep it in a safe place.
  5. Remove your filter from the box.
    • Note: which side is to be placed "up".
  6. Slide the filter into the casing, ensuring a snug fit.
  7. Replace everything you removed by reversing the steps above.
  8. Go in the car, and blast the vent, to remove any dust, etc. that may have been in the vents.
  9. Enjoy your clean air! You will notice that your interior will stay cleaner for longer periods of time, and you can breathe easier!!

Just to the right and above the accelerator pedal you need to remove the left sound insulator panel. Then remove the filter access cover by pushing down and then pulling out. It kinda pops off. Remove the tape on the first filter and then remove the filter by pulling the filter tab. Remove the tape on the second filter and then remove second filter by pulling the filter tab. Remove the third filter by pulling the filter tab. I know you didn't ask about all that but just in case you wanted to replace them.

Changing cab filter in 200 ford f150

If you are talking about the cabin air filter, this filters the outside air for the HVAC.
Hastings Filter (#AF1057) shows one for the 97-03 MY trucks.

Remove the screws that hold the horizontal filter housing cover from behind the glove box (no need to open the glove box);

Pull the cabin filter straight down (sits vertical behind the glove box inside the housing).

Install replacement and reattach the cover.

Where is my cabin filter located 99 f-150

The 99s did not come equipped with a cabin air filter. Some few had dealer-installed kits (Ford Kit #F65Z-18D477-AA), but this is not terribly common.

If your truck has one of these kits installed, it will be on the fan box, under the dash, below and behind the glove box on the passenger side.

Cabin air filter

Tools needed are a Phillips screwdriver. Open the hood. Notice the cover for the cabin filter is on the cowl on the passenger side. Remove the screw form the cover. Remove the cover by pulling toward the front of the vehicle. The filter is now visible. Remove by pushing up on the filter to loosen from housing and then pulling out toward the front of the vehicle.
Replace with clean cabin filter. Replace cover by lining up the notches on either side of the cover plate to the grooves in the filter housing. Replace the screw in the cover plate.

Good luck and hope this helps.
