How to locate a fuel filter on 1991 XJ6 - 1990 Jaguar XJ6

There is a updated sending unit available from Jaguar stores. It is located next to the oil filter housing on the Driver side of the block, under the intakle manifold. P.S. you will need a "crow foot wrench" and an extension to change it. This is a very frustrating part to replace due to location. If you are handy, it can be accessed a little more easy by loosing and pulling back the intake, but that is tricky also.

Sounds like the problem I'm having. No noise coming from the fuel pump when the ignition is switched on. I've read that there is an inertia switch that, when activated, stops the fuel pump from working. Haynes says it's behind the passenger side kick panel, but I don't see it on my 1991 XJ6 (XJ40). Do you know where it is?

It is in the trunk . Passenger side, towards the front of the trunk

The fuel filter is located in the right front corner of the luggage compartment next to the spare tire.

check your flowmeter, this electronic device moniters air/fuel mixture, commonly located on the inlet manifold near injectors

The fuel filter is mounted in a bracket underneath the body by the left hand side rear shock absorber above the drive shaft.

The fuel filter is located under the car, in front and in a little, from the L/H rear wheel.

Undo the 2 nut connections, and fixing clamp, and its off.

Remember no smoking !

I believe you mean the locking ring, which secures the Fuel Tank Guage Sender / Fuel Pump into the tank.

The fuel filter is under the car, and above and to the left of the rear axle  D 

I hate to correct you Guru but on a 89 xj6 the fuel pump is located between the fuel tank and filter under the car. right above rearend. Its a littler hard to see but a easy fix
