Check for the flowing of fuel from the fuel line. The fuel pump may have failed. If this was at all helpful, please rate. Thanks for asking.

The maf sensor would be after the air filter if it has one.
A high idle could be a vac leak or a faulty idle air bypass valve.
Or the throttle plate may not be closing completely.
The vac leak could also be the intake gasket.

Why is my 1991 ford ranger hard to start and i have a new fuel filter, spark plugs and battery?

Turn key to on for 5 sec then off 5 sec then on 5 sec then off 5 sec then on 5 sec then off 5 sec then start. If start good = loss of fuel pressure. Probably the fuel pump if this is the case but could be fuel leak, return stuck partially open, leaking injector into the motor etc but likly pump. Let me know how you go with the on off test

My 1990 F150 will not start sometimes. If I turn the switch to the on position and the fuel pump continues to run after 5 Sec , It will not start. If the pump stop running after 5 Sec , it will start.

when u turn the key to run but don't start the fuel pump shuts off after 5 seconds + or - 2 seconds, this is normal, the common cause of no start on your truck is the TFI ignition module on the distributor, subject of many recalls for failing, also change the stator inside the distributor, use factory parts, aftermarket parts fail very quickly. here is a picture of the parts.

This is the TFI ignition module.

Will run for 5 sec and then it will not run

Could be a number of things.

Fuel pump, pump relay, plugged fuel filter, bad spark plugs, plug wires, coilpack/or/distributor
Most reasons are car won't start or stay running is a bad sensor.
