Hi, the freon refill point you are looking for is on the accumulator. but you can't see it cause it's buried by the heater hoses, battery cables, and firewall mounted fuseblock. remove the fuse block cover, and get a bright flashlight, look just below the fuse block and you will see the cylindrical accumulator(aluminum canister looking) and the low side pressure port with the plastic cap on it.

This information was very useful. I was skeptical at first, but it helped me find the port. However, it's a lot of work removing the fuse block cover. I never could get it completely out of the way, but I moved it enough to find the port. But then it was in the way, so I actually put it back in order to do the charging. The accumulator is a vertical cylinder. The suction port is on the side of the accumulator sticking out at right angles and pointing in the general directiion of the center of the engine compartment. So the easiest way to find it is to stick your hand under the fuse block, locate the side of the accumulator and feel around for the plastic cap. Once you locate the port by feel, you can service it without removing anything (except the cap).

Look for the ac lines coming from the ac compressor, and follow the low side ac line ,it is the larger one, follow it until you come to the service port,it is the small service port, and the charge hose will only fit on it.If this was helpful, please rate, and thank you.

Hello i have a question i just bought a 2000 ford expedition and the person i bougt it from didnt run it for about 4 months and when we crack it up the ac didnt work we put atifreeze and still didnt work...

add R134a freon and use a fill hose with a gage and keep in safe range. Keep can upright to fill system as a gas. Inverting will send a flood of liquid freon in - not good.
Can you hear the a/c clutch engage and disengage a few times/minute?

Add freon

You have to locate the low pressure line and connector port. Trace the two lines back to the firewall that come from the compressor. You will find 1 port on each line. They are usually covered by a plastic cap of some type that unscrews. Your refill hose, assuming you have a standard refill can with attached gauge, will only attached to the low pressure side. The two ports are slightly different in size. The low pressure side should be the larger of the two lines you are tracing from the compressor.

Where does the freon go for a 99 expedition

Hi .. I just ran into the same problem .. I have a 2000 Expedition with the 5.4L engine .. the low side port is located on the passenger side of engine compartment just below the black metal bracket that contains electrical connections right in front of the firewall... you have to reach under this and locate the low side (larger line) and feel for the connection .. it is right in front of the accumulator .. There are two heater hose that hide the port .. you have reach under these to unscrew the port cap which is black .. you'll have to do this by feel .. I have found that you can by R134A charge with dye and leak sealant helps with small leaks .. if the system takes more than two cans be usre to add refrig. oil .. hope this helps

Where is the valve to add refrigerant to my 2001 Ford Expedition's A/C system?...It does not blow as cold as it used to and I want to try this before bringing it in to the shop

I just did this on my f150 supercrew, which looks identical to my 2000 expedition. follow the freon lines, usually next to the battery, to the firewall. tucked against the firewall is the condensor and just above it is the low pressure access port. I topped off my freon using a kit with a pressure gauge. the before pressor was 40, and after the freon addition was 50. Made ALL the difference between a slightly cool AC and FREEZING COLD AC. Total cost with tax for the kit was just under $30. The kit inclued an 18 oz refill container (17 oz freon + 1 oz synthetic lubricant in the can) and reusable hose/pressure guage.
