Can anyone tell me the location of the fuel pump

My 2006 f150 won't start. it's clearly a fuel problem. i've removed and tested the fuel pump it's fine. my next step is to check the fuel pump relay but i'can't find it in either the cab fuse box or aux relay box. also is there any other switch that may cut out the fuel pump other than the emergency cut-out switch next to the in cab fuse box? if so could someone point me towards that as well?

The Fuel pump relay is a non serviceable relay ( built into the fuse panel ) in the 04-08 MY F-150s.

Did you check the Fuel Inertia switch ( in the passenger side kick panel by the fuse panel ) ?

If you are having a no fuel pressure issue, might want to take a look at the FPDM ( Fuel Pump Driver Module ) on the cross member above the spre tire ( need to drop the spare to see if ).

There is an issue with 04-07 ( 04-06 ?? ) MY trucks where the FPDM is bolted directly to the cross member, and dissimilar metal corrosion happens and builds up behind the FPDM, causing it to break.

Here are some before and after pictures from my 2006, I replaced mine for the heck of it and found that the case had cracked with ~ 51K miles on it, soon the PCB would have cracked leaving me stranded

Testimonial: "thanks for the tip i'll check it out. i've tried to reset the fuel cut-out but it's hard to tell if it resets and finding a test point to prove it is well.... daunting. i have no fuel pressure whatsoever and the fuel pump will not run although it will if i put 12v directly to the fuel pump motor so i know it's not the fuel pump."

That sounds like the FPDM. It takes the power from the fuel pump relay through the fuel inertia shutoff switch and input from the PCM to power the fuel pump.
    The circuit is :
Fuse #9 to the Fuel pump relay Common terminal ( i.e. relay pin #30 ).
Fuel pump relay Normally open terminal ( i.e. relay pin #87 ) to the Fuel pump inertia switch ( on a Dark Green w/ Yellow stripe wire
Fuel Inertia switch output ( White wire ) to the FPDM.

So if you want a test, with the key in the run position, you should have power on both the Dark Green w/ Yellow stripe wire

2006 F150 stutters but will not start

Yes it can. Bad fuel can also cause this problem, water in the fuel also give you problems. Take off that filter and pour its contents in a clear jar for a closer inspection. Capture some fuel from the lines by extending the connection with a section of hose and pump some in a clear glass jar to see what it looks like. I had to drain my whole gas tank once because of a bad fill up. The fuel pump can pump your tank out just be careful not to run the pump completely dry, once she starts to splutter stop. A new filter and clean fill up should dilute any remaining water enough for it to burn off. You should also be able to ses if your pump has enought pressure also.

99 f150 6cyl- the problem started with the pickup cutting out when I would try to give it gas and speed up. I changed the fuel filter but that didn't help, I changed the spark plugs and that...

Rather then guessing as to what the problem is learn to test ! Check the electrical circuit , hook up a fuel pressure gauge , use a spark tester to see if it has spark . Do you like buying parts you don't need ? Other wise your better off having a qualified repair shop check it out .

Is your heater blowing hot? In my owners manual it says the computer starts dropping cylinders in a potentially overheat condition. My car was low on coolant and I wouldn't have ever known it if my wife hadn't asked me to check the heater. Hope you figure it out.

My 1999 masda 626 won't start. it turns over but acts like it isn't getting any fuel.

check relays/fuses first then the pump if you know how to test it
the pump is easy to test locate any fuel line unplug it tell a friend to make a quick one key turn if squirts fuel then pump is fine
but check the pump relay first to make sure and to begin with simplest
it seems you can tell it is the pump but you don`t know where to start

2006 f150, started up,ran for a minute , engine started shaking, and stalled.would not restart. Found #9 fuse blown and replaced but still would not start, could not hear fuel pump when turned key on .

sounds like you already found the problem,. the fuel pump. To be sure, get in touch with your local dealer and ask the parts dept if they can tell you which fuse #9 powers up. You may want to check the fuel filter also...

Locating changing fuel filter 2006 sonata 3.3 lt

Most late model cars have the filter attached to the pump inside the gas tank. Japanese auto makers love doing this stuff. It depends on the manufacturer as to whether or not it is replacable. If it is, all you have to do is remove the sock and throw a new one on there.
