Losing radiator fluid. Fluid in reserve reservoir is not being drawn into radiator. Fluid loss about a quart per couple of weeks of driving about 50 miles. Can't find any dripping from radiator. Main hose to engine block appears ok.

Fit a new rad cap as the seal has gone and thats why its not pulling the coolant back into the rad ,their are two seals on this type of cap one on teh bottom and one on the underside of the lid/cap and its this one that has perished so it allows the fluid to expand into the header bottle but its not holding a seal so a vacumn forms drawing the fluid back into the rad

Thankyou for your feedback. I will replace the radiator cap. What is not clear to me though, is where the loss of fluid from the radiator is occurring. Your recomendation does appear to be the solution to the drawing of fluid from the reserve reservoir to the radiator.

If the reservoir tank filled with cooant, it is necessary to fill up the radiator with water?

Yes, the radiator should be checked first for anti-freeze level. If it is low, top it off and pour remaining fluid into the reserve tank to the proper level. Re-check after driving and then you may just fill the reservoir only if you like.

How do you find where my engine is leaking fluid

Sorry to say you probably have engine troubles.
A leaking head gasket will drink the coolant and cause the bubbles to form.
A mechanic can check for leaks by pressurizing the cooling system and also checking for exhaust gas in the radiator.

How to change the fluid of the power steering ?

Open the engine hood.

There will be several fluid reservoirs under the bonnet. If the car / truck has power steering, one of them will hold about 150-300ml of fluid that should be a red color. If you put some on your hand it is very slippery.

The other reservoirs will hold water for the windscreen washer, and one connected to the radiator to hold coolant.

Check that the reservoir you intend to put the power steering fliud in is not connected to the radiator and does not contain water.

Take the cap off to check.

If you can't see in to the bottom, roll up some kitchen paper towel and feed that in until you get some fluid on it - red, you hope!

There will be marks (horizontal lines) on the side of the reservoir showing "Min" (minimum) and "Max" (maximum or full). Slowly pour in replavcement fliud until the tiop of the fluid is between the marks.. Put the cap back on, close the engine hood, drive for a short distance (2 km?) and check the levels again.

Top up the reservoir to just under "Max". Replace the cap.

Check the level after a short period of normal driving - a couple of weeks, If it is still going down a mechanic needs to check the power steering seals.

good luck.

WHERE DO I PUT THE TRANSMISSION OIL INTO ON THE ACCORD 1996adn what grad of oil please for the engine.what is it when yo get light brown oilly substance in the water container at the side of the rad.

put honda brand transmission fluid in the transmission fluid dipstick hole, if this is a 4cylinder, use 2.5 quarts to fill, if 6, use 3 quarts. if you are getting brown oilly substance in the radiator fluid reservoir, this usually means you have a blown head gasket, are you having overheating problems. try draining and filling your radiator with new fluid.

Unsure if empty reservoir is for clutch.

If it is a bright green, it is probably antifreeze, the reservoir for that is usually around 1/2 to 1 gallon. If it is about a cup to pint size, it may be clutch fluid. It should smell about the same as brake fluid. Usually clear or brownish clear in color.
