The first thing to check is the backrest release switch activator. This is a small plastic lever located under the backrest pivot point under the bottom of the seat. There is a small spring attached to it. The attachment point is what normally brakes. If you locate the micro switch, you can close the switch with your finger and try to move the seat at the same time (watch your fingers!). If this is the problem, you can get this plastic piece and replace it. This is not the most enjoyable job and will take a lot of patience. Let me know if you need more info.

2011 c70 trunk release not unlocking. I have to manually unlock the trunk from the rear seat hidden lock, any solution before i head to the dealership? Thanks

check your fuses to the trunk lock and its power relays also check the button and wiring for opens or shorts (normally a broken wire between the button and the power lock is culprit)

My Volvo C70 1998, is going through water, I have found water under my passenger seat what could the problem be? & how could I fix the problem myself?

If you mean that your constantly loosing water in your radiator then you have a leak. Leaks in the cooling system are under the hood or inside the car... when inside the car there is only one place that it can be which is the heater core located under the dash on the passengers side. the water will show up on the floor infront of the seat. Heater core replacement is a simple but painfull job because of its location. While getting your heater core at the local parts ask and they will confirm! lots of luck. If you find this helpful pleasee leave a good rating Thanks, Jack

My Volvo C70 - 2002- has power seats, the drivers seat is all the way forward, and will not return or move in any way.

There is a plastic piece that holds the return spring for the switch on the seat back release. When this piece breaks, the switch can't indicate that the release is back in the lock position. You will have to take part of the seat apart to replace this piece. There could be something else causing this problem, but this is the most common.
