You need to reset your change oil warning light. To do this, turn the ignition key to on but do not turn over the engine. Then rapidly push down the gas pedal three times. This will reset the system and turn off the blinking light. Then when you drive another 3000 miles, that light will once again tell you it is time to have your oil changed. J.

Blinking hold lamp when driving and no speedometer reading please help

My 2002 Mazda protege had the blinking hold light problem. I went to a mechanic and he said,it could be a problem with the solenoid in the gearbox. He diagnosed all the 6 solenoids and found out that 4 out of 6 is not working, so I bought the 4 solenoids and got it replaced. But still, the hold light keeps on blinking, then the mechanic said it could be the transmission sensor, got it replaced then thank god the blinking hold light is gone! :) So,you need to check the transmission sensor first before you check the solenoid cause in my case, the fault could be just the sensor rather than the pricey solenoids.

Mazda protege 99 o/d light starts blinking and transmision goes to 4th gear. What causes the o/d to start blinking

This is just a guess, but my Mazda o/d light was blinking and it was the transmission overheating. It didn't hurt mine. Coolant was getting low in the radiator. But the engine was not overheating. It was highway driving.

For 2003 Mazda Protege ES model 2.0L 4cyl engine; engine running rough and ''shaking at idle'' when stopped on road for traffic light for example. Also becomming hard to start. Someone mentioned a ''cold...

Check the air inlet boot going from the air filter to the intake for rips or holes. If rips exist, this would allow air to bypass the filter and mass air flow sensor and will lead to a check engine light appearing. The code would read "too lean, bank 1." If this problem is allowed to continue for long periods of time, the EGR ports will have to be cleaned out and maybe even the intake.

i have a 2003 mazda protege. this is the third time my check engine light has come on. the first time the car started to shake when i stopped at a light and the check engine light came on. i had a readout done and it said misfire. i took it to a garage and they changed my spark plugs and wires. 2 weeks later it came on again and my car started to shake whenever i stopped. readout said misfire. they fixed the coils. it has been 2 weeks since then and my car started shaking again whenever i stop and the light came on. what could possibly be wrong with it?
