bernardsblog.blogspot.com/.../dodge-transmission-output-speed-sensor.h... Sep 8, 2009 - The code was straight forward - PO720 - Output Speed Sensor Circuit.... words but if you've never seen the underside of a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup ...My 99 Dodge 2500 Ram won't accelerate..transmission is NOT ... RR - If the engine revs but the vehicle doesn't speed up then the trans is slipping.
There are two sensors located on the driver's side of the transmission. there is an input and and output sensor. You can only get to them from the underside of the car.
I WOULD TRY REPLACING THE INPUT SPEED SENSOR..A DEFECTIVE SPEED SENSOR CAN CAUSE ALL OF THESE FAULTS..IT IS LOCATED IN FRONT OF TRANS ABOVE SOLENOID PACK..IT IS THE ONE CLOSEST TO THE ENGINE..IT SCREWS INTO TO TRANSMISSION..A 1 INCH SOCKET FITS IT..ALSO CHECK WIRING TO BOTH SPEED SENSORS..A SENSOR IS ABOUT 35 BUCKS,AVAILABLE AT YOUR LOCAL DODGE DEALER..GET A NEW ONE AND YOU'LL SEE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE..FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM..HAVE REPLACED LOTS OF THEM
usually they are at the back of the tranny with a 2 wire plugin and one
bolt holding it in...if not it may be part of your rear ABS sensor in
your rear end...do you have any codes about ABS
