If you buy new plugs that are correct for your car, they normally come pre gapped (particularly platinum and other 'non copper' plugs). I like to run 36/1000 or 0.8mm. But 1.1mm (43/1000) is also common.
One of the best plug for the 4.0 V6 is the Bosch Platinum Part number 5256-05252087. These plugs come pre-gapped so you don't need to worry about that. The bad thing is, they're almost $5.00 each. In case you buy a plug that does need to be gapped, like the Platinum Plus plug, the gap is 0.054 in.
Good luck and Happy New Year,
Bill

The spark plug gap should be posted on the emissions sticker under the hood. The gap setting posted on the sticker is good for all brands and types of plugs for your vehicule
These engines use platinum plugs-you don't gap these type of plugs because you will damage te platinum electrode and cause misfire problems. Make sure you use bosch platinum factory recommended plugs and if he vehicle has more than 75k i would recommend replacing your plug wires as well/
