I have a 1995 Firebird Formula! I fill the tank up until gas was pouring back out but my gas needle only read 3/4 of a tank. Then before it got to empty the car cut off on the freeway. I added more gas, then it started after I attempted to start it for 5 minutes. Later that week the car cut off at a red light and I had gas. My Check Engine light comes on and im not sure if that is associated with it. The car hesitates sometimes when I am going above 60. It only feels like I am getting the full power when I take off at zero. Could it be catalyic converters also?

It's not likely to be your catylitic converter it's more likely your fuel pump is going bad or you have some damaged wiring to the fuel pump. If by chance you recently had it changed the ground probably didn't get connected right.

1995 pontiac formula lt1 motor turns over No start

If it has sat and not run for awhile...the fuel could be dirty...add a bottle of HEET to help eliminate any water build up...also add a bottle of fuel injector cleaner to the gas tank...may need 2 bottles...last check would be the control module for a spark test...

What is the gas mileagefot my car

1. Fill gas tank 2. Record odometer reading 3. Drive car as usual until 1/4 full. 4. Fill gas tank and record how many gallons it took to fill it again. 5. Record new odometer reading and subtract original reading. 6. Divide miles driven by gallons used.

1995 Firebird After Running Low on Gas

You have most likely sucked residue in the bottom of the fuel tank into your fuel filter, This can cause it to get blocked, Try fitting a replacement fuel filter as it's most likely it's never been changed anyway.

How do i manually read trouble codes on 1995 firebird formula with 5.7 v 8 motor lt 1

you have to use a scan tool. You can not manually read them<you need a OBDII reader. you can get one at the auto parts store, They cost about $75-$200 or more for one. auto zone and some of the other auto parts stores will read them for free..

1995 formula takes a while to turn over. when it finally starts it runs fine.....spark plugs and wires maybe.....there is a small delay when you step on the gas pedal....just replaced the fuel filter....

bad fuel pump or pressure regulator valve... when either go bad they allow fuel to return to the tank and when you shut your car off for a while....When you go to start the fuel has to fill the line and pressurize the system to allow the injectors to work...Try turning the key to the on position for 5 seconds turn off then turn on again for 5 seconds then start the car...If it starts up then your pressure regulator valve or fuel pump is bad

Doorlock won't unlock / Gas gauge stuck

Do the doors unlock when you shut the key off? Also unhook the purple wire to the sending unit in the tank, Gauge should read empty. Ground the purple wire, it should read past full. If it works this way, replace the sending unit in the tank.
