Have a 92 toyota pickup v6 4x4 extra cab. Truck starts on a cold start, however when I drive the pickup, say approx. 7 miles. I'll turn the truck off, in 5 minutes if I try to start the truck (engine is hot or warm) it won't start. Sounds like it wants to turn over, it won't start or if it does, it wants to die? What's the problem?

SOURCE: 1999 toyota tacoma Sr5 won't start

Check for fuel pressure when starting. Fuel pumps have a check valve in them that keep fuel in the rail at the injectors. If the check valve fails, the pump has to pump fuel all of the way up to the engine. Same thing with hot no-restarts. Fuel pump.

SOURCE: Removing rotor on a 1991 toyota 4x4 pickup

You have to take apart the 4x4 hub to get to the lock nut for the bearings then you have to reome the hub and rotor assy, then you have to press the wheel studs out to remove the rotor, then reverse the process.

SOURCE: 92 Toyota pickup

I had a similar problem; the engine would start stumbling around 30-35 mph. If the distributor cap, plugs, and wires does not solve it, try the Spark Pickup Coil. If you look under the hood and atop the driver's side wheel well (for the 22RE engine), it's the cylinder shaped object that is bolted to the wheel well. Replacing this fixed it for me. Bought one from a salvage yard; cost was $60.

sounds like you have no power(12v) going to the alternator.verify the single red wire @ alternator
has 12v. if there is no power you'll need to trace the wiring,.start by checking fuses in cab & in the

sounds like it is vapor locking. I see this a lot with Fuel injector Carb units. It is usually a leak on a gasket in the Carb or on a flexible fuel line causing the problem.

you may be over ambitious. check the tow rating for the vehicle. a fifth wheel type is probably over the towing limit for your truck. if this is a 92 Hi-lux, it may be limited to approx 17-1800 kg.

Flutter type noise when truck gets warmed up

If you have not adjusted the valves that would be a good place to start, 117,000 is not high miles for your engine, but valve lash should be done every 60,000 at least.
