There is no fuse, but try Relay No. 4. You may need an auto electrician if that doesn't work.

Sorry, Golf 1 and Golf II are different animals.

For 1995 VW Golf GTi the correct gap for spark plugs is:
Electrode gap = 0,7 mm

You'll need to use the wiring from the 2.0L motor. Your best bet is to get Bentley manuals for the car the motor came from and for yours. They have very very detailed wiring diagrams, to do the swap.

Probably the starter needs to be replaced. If it was the battery, you would have more problems cold than hot.
