That means Code 17, one long flash means 1, seven short flashes means 7. The code is for the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) Have it checked and replaced if necessary.

1992 honda no spark

1 one spark plug or all 4? (key fact one missing)

insert honda OBD1 diagnostic jumper (or as FSM directs)

engage Diag mode.

then crank engine for 5 seconds.

then release key,

does the ECU flash out codes for a failure.,, BINGO

all cars work like this 1987 to now, USA>

what engine, of the many?

fsm quotes (and vast on line data same on all honda\'s)

there are more online facts on honda\'s than any car.

they race them and have hacked them to infinite levels.

now thequote

On 1990-95 Accord (except V-6) and 1992-95 Prelude, the codes are read from the check engine light after the two-wire service connector has been jumpered. On Accords, the service connector is under the dash on the passenger side. On Preludes, it is located behind the center console. Codes 1 through 9 are indicated by a series of short flashes; two-digit codes use a long flash for the first digit followed by the appropriate number of short flashes. For example, Code 14 would be indicated by 1 long flash followed by 4 short flashes. Codes are separated by a pause between displays. Multiple codes are transmitted in an alternating pattern. For example, a code 3 and 14 would be displayed as 3 short flashes (for Code 3) followed by the separator pause, then 1 long flash and 4 short flashes (for Code 14).

my comment, code 4 or 8 tells you , CKP or CMP sensors are dead.

in gringo that is "crank or cam sensors dead)

the ECU can report even , 1 in 10 pulses missing.

its very very , accurate in this report.

crank

release key

wait a minute to see if the ECU sets DTC errors.

do not turn off the key,or it erases them. wait, for 5min.

How to turn the rely back on to the fuel pump

as always check all fuses FIRST (electrics issues, EFI is that.)

the Puter magic is mindboggling, but..
why not post the symptoms, ????????
is it dead fuel pump or the more accurate, low or no fuel pressure?

All ECU/PCM (EFI ) all cut the pump for many reasons.
PCM is PGM-FI , in honda speak. PCM is modern term.
first really is fuse checks. !!!
1: no spark. (did you pull the CEL DTC blink codes to see if the ECU
is unhappy?
2: many cars (you must crank to run the pump) so looking not cranking for 12v at the pump , you fail and is normal.
(2 man rule one to crank, one to listen or check voltage at pump
or pump pressure at rail or filter) (a new filter is a good ploy now)

the fsm is here, and covers this, read the FSM
some pages are missing,,, so get real FSM
or go to alldata.com
http://www.scantool.net/software/alldata-diy-1-month-subscription.html

free but , some pages missing(good luck with free)

see chapter 16, electrics.
F22A6 engine
this page is valid.
http://troubleshootmyvehicle.com/honda/2.2L-2.3L/how-to-test-the-fuel-pump-2

I like the (above) is cam dead?, line.... funny that.
(gather evidence, fuses good, cam spins (watch it) no DTC stored.
then check for spark no spark work spark now ,not fuel.
with a dead cam there is no CMP , no CMP the ECU pukes
codes for CMP Dead.
this is an interference engine so i'd bet that belt is fresh, huh?
ever 60k? per the opr; guide.

watch for codes, 4,8,9,15,16 (OBD2 DTC codes)
code 9 is dead cam. dead spark and all fuel is cut. for ever.
TDC&crank sensor, must work and not show DTC codes.

Dizzy
Coil.
Got code (DTC) 4,8,9,15, ah bingo?
here are the words in the FSM ( got one yet , they are free too)

  1. Use a jumper wire to connect the two terminals of the service connector together.
  2. Turn the ignition switch ON ; the check engine light will display any stored codes by rhythmic flashing.

In the event that a code is encountered which is not on the chart, re-count the number of flashes. If the code is truly wrong, it will be necessary to swap the ECU for a known-good unit and recheck. Since this can be expensive, you may wish to bring the car to a reputable repair facility if no other cause of the failure can be found. This may save you the expense of purchasing an unnecessary part.
  1. If no codes are displayed but a driveablity problem exits, testing of the system individual components is necessary to find the problem. If codes are displayed, follow the appropriate troubleshooting chart in this section.

Need to find obd in 1990 honda accord

TROUBLE CODES System Diagnosis READING CODES When the "Check Engine'' warning light on the dashboard comes on and stays on, it indicates a problem in the fuel injection/emissions system. Check the ECU for fault codes. On certain models, some codes will not trigger the check engine light; if driveability has suffered, check for stored fault codes. The most common error when using fault codes is to assume the indicated component has failed rather than checking the entire circuit. The presence of a trouble code means simply that the electrical circuit for the named component is not functioning properly. For example, a code for the oxygen sensor circuit does not automatically mean the oxygen sensor has failed. A wire terminal may simply be loose or corroded at the connector. When using diagnostic or fault codes, always remember that the entire circuit including the component must be checked carefully. On 1990-95 Accord (except V-6) and 1992-95 Prelude, the codes are read from the check engine light after the two-wire service connector has been jumpered. On Accords, the service connector is under the dash on the passenger side. On Preludes, it is located behind the center console. D4 blinking, spedometer not working, check engine light on

Hi, a few questions 1st. Did your mechanic check for engine codes? Is your Honda a v-6 or 4 cylinder?
The flashing D4 light indicates a possible transmission malfunction. You should avoid rapid acceleration until the cause of the light blinking is determined.
If you have the V-6, there is a diagnostic port to connect a scan tool to read any stored engine codes that have turned on the check engine light. This port is located behind the ashtray in the center console (most cars did not have this til 96).
If you have the 4 cyl engine, there is a service connector located under the dash on the pass. side. Inside the connector is what looks like a 2 wire plug should be attached. Take a paper clip, unbend it, and insert the 2 ends of the clip into the connector to 'jump' it. Turn the ignition switch to the on position (don't start the vehicle), and the check engine light will flash. Count the flashes, short flashes are for code #'s 1 to 9 (single digit code), a 2 digit code will be a long flash for the 1st digit, followed by a short flash for the 2nd digit. If there is more than one code, they will be separated by a pause. They will repeat so you can count them and write them down. Let me know what the code #'s are so I can help further. Curt
