Apart from plugging the car into a diagnostic no its probably cheaper to change the part it could also be a faulty coil pack but if its like my m reg c class there is 1 per cylinder would start but run rubbish if the parts buttons just replace it then you kniw if its that or not
hi, in the american database for alldata, there is no lancer in 1990, if your engine is dohc, or sohc though, i checked 2.0 and 1.8, both are 1.0mm - 1.1mm gap. shouldn't be any problem running at these gaps, most every mitsubishi engine runs at this spark plug gap.
YOUR CAR ONLY HAS COIL PACKS. CHECK VOLTAGE AT HARNNESS, IF OK REMOVE COIL PACK FROM SPARK PLUG REMOVE BOOT CHECK FOR VOLTAGE THERE, IF NONE POSS. COIL PACK.
you would need to remove the two 10mm bolts from the coil packs and leads and then stick the smaller version of spark plug socket in remove them, bear in mind if u have a mivec motor the spark plugs MUST be Platinum :)
