This is normally caused by a faulty sending unit located in the tank. The only way to correct this concern is to replace the sending unit assembly. To do this you can either remove the bed to access the fuel tank, or lower the fuel tank itself. It's normally easier to remove the bed if you have a couple buddies...I hope I could help.....

Most likely replacing the sending unit in the fuel tank will solve the problem

If my fuel gage on my 2005 Chevy Aveo doesn't work, how do you fix it? This started @ 78,000 miles

If your mileage has dropped to half, I would be worried about what is wrong with the car. Chances are it is running very rich and using way more fuel than it should.

93 Chevy Cheyenne gas tank into 83 Silvera

no it will not work as these are 2 different style bodies.the 83 has the tanks on the outside of the frame and no fuel pump in tank.the 93 tank is located inside the frame rails and has a electric pump in the tank.

Chevy s-10 pickup not accelerating

Possibly a fuel delivery issue, i had a problem like this on a chevy cheyenne truck i once owned, turned out to be the fuel strainer in the gas tank. the fuel filter also had a lot of crap in it. so check those items and see if they are plugged up.

Inside or directly under the distribitor cap is a plastic ring with either one or two wires attached..... these devices fail and not allow the engine to start.
It happened on my 88 chevy (305 cu in.). a quick fix is to replace it with a new one.. (Advance Auto) or other parts store.

1997 Chevy s10 Pick up fuel gauge

The most likely problem is the sender unit in the tank is stuck.
Sender units are relatively cheap and easy to change.
Autozone probably carry them on the shelf.
