Question about 2005 Nissan Titan

1 Answer

Just bought a camper. The braking system the guy gave me was for a ford. (Husky Journey HD) I have a Nissan titan (2005). I have been trying to match the wires, but no success. Could you tell me what color wires go with each other? Titan has: blk, brn/white strip, red, red/blue strip, and red/grn strip. Husky has: lite blue, blk, red, white. Thank you.

OK on the truck side, brake controller harness wire colors are:

RED = +12V (Hot at all times, even with truck off)
RED/GREEN = Stop light (Hot when brake pedal is depressed)
BLACK = Ground
BROWN/WHITE = Brake out (variable voltage to trailer brakes, 2v-12v)
RED/BLUE = Dimmer (not used on most controllers)

On the controller side (these are pretty much universal):

BLACK = +12v
RED = Stop light
WHITE = Ground
BLUE = Brake out

I have a 08 Nissan titan and my trailer lights don't come on, blinkers,flashers, and brake lights work, but when i turn on lights-nothing. Any ideas

Yes you need the tow relays. U-Haul sells the set of three for around $25. Dealers sell them for a lot more. Do a web search for 'Titan tow relays' for more information.

2005 Ford 5.4 Super Duty

Your issue would actually be with your transfer case I believe, do not tow in 4 wheel drive. A 5.4 super duty can pull a house on skids.... ask previous owner if rear differential has been swapped out as well. Just as an after thought, first make sure your camper brakes are not engaged...if it has brakes.

I have a '05 Ford Ranger. I bought a camper shell that has a Third Brake Light and I would like to hook it up so it works when I apply the brakes. Hooking the camper shell 3rd Brake lights to the p/u brake...

there will be four wires going to your lights you will have to test each wire to see which wire is for the brake light and tap into that wire. on all ford rangers one bulb controls everything so you can't just hook it up thru your bulb so you will have to hookit up thru your wires. it's not that difficult but you will have to have a helping hand. and test till you find the one for the brakes only.

Need to get axles off a 2005 Nissan Titan

Two choices. Find an axle assy from a wrecked truck, or if your ring/pinion gears are OK, install Detroit Locker TrueTrac to replace spider gears. Good luck.
