Question about 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab
I have a 2004 chevy silverado 5.3 4x4. Afew times I have tried to unlock the doors with the keyless remote and they will not unlock. I unlock the door smanually and try to start the engine, it will crank and start for a half second and die. the cabin light is off and the doors and windows will not work at the same time. I will come back an hour later and everything works fine. Any help would be appreciated.
Have you had the vehicle checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes ?.

SOURCE: power door locks and drivers window have failed on 2004 colorado
I had the same problem to the T. I look online for all the same solutions and I can only tell you what worked for me. Actually what I think worked, HAHA! I went out to my truck and unplugged both battery terminals from battery and placed them together to supposedly reset the electrical system, "so I was told." After this for about 20 min or so, I went back out and in this order; re-installed positive terminal followed by negative terminal to battery. After this I checked locks and windows and surprise they worked. I've seen a lot of people say that all they did was wait and they worked later, so maybe it was that and not what I did, but who cares, they work now. Give it a shot and if it works for you, GREAT let me know, I HATE CHEVY CAUSE OF THIS......they wanted me to pay for a stupid diagnostic before they would help me........well screw you I fixed myself. Had the same thing happen to my truck, the blen door actuator is under the console on passenger side, but the heater core is going to be clogged if you dont have any heat coming through, but a/c works..

SOURCE: At cold ambient temperature (-20C) after sitting
have someone check the reading on the engine coolant temp switch,if your switch is telling the computer it is 50 degrees the engine will start it lean, when you really need rich, like an old fashion choke.

You have a intermittent condition. To isolate the cause: 1.Disconnect the drivers door lock/unlock switch from the connector. Drive the vehicle and see if your random lock/unlock condition has stopped. If it has, replace the switch. If it hasn't:
2. You have a grounding problem or a problem in the BCM (Body Control Module) and should have a technician use a Tech 2 Diagnostic Link Tool to access the BCM computer to obtain any fault code data to help correct the condition.
