A common place for it to leak is where the oil filter housing bolts to the block.. Its hard to see where it is comning from there.. Clean it and go under with it running and look for the start of the leak.. Good luck.
yes. they are both multigrade oils only the viscosities are different but both are acceptable in the engine The 10w40 would be a better grade for an engine from 1997 . up grade the viscosity for hotter climates to 30w50 for an 1997 engine as the older the engine the heavier the oil
