If you just replaceD the engine in your 2005 Kia Spectra, was the replacement engine a good one? It sounds to me like it's a starter or starter solenoid issue! Try "hot-wiring" the starter solenoid, to see if the engine cranks. All security systems are "low level" in terms of current control. But a DIRECT connection from a good battery to the starter solenoid should engage it, which should complete the circuit from the battery to the starter motor.

could be anything ,check the levels first then see what happens but as this is a 2005 model i think it might be a dealer job because it could be the first of the encrypted software type so evan if you try a scan it will not show the true fault

1. Have a look at your battery.
2. It might be your starter.
