If it goes off, then comes back after only a short time, then add 1/2 quart, and so on. These cars go through about a quart of oil every 5000 - 10000 miles normally (depending on various factors).

So drain the old oil completely and then add new oil.

in many country's oil standart is deferent for example in indonesia, there is only twop season... so they using oil with sae 30-40, but in europe they using oil wiht weigth viscosty more heavy...
oil good using for 10.000 km, or approximetely 25k miles..
there is some solution... check the engine if there no oil leak, so your car is fine...
your owners manual should have something in the index such as fluid capacities that will tell you how much and usually what type too. if not its usually stamped on the oil fill cap. usually is either 10w30 or 5w30 some people choose based on the season of the year. 5w30 is usually better for winter time. 4 cylinder usually 4-4.5 quarts v6 is usually 4.5-5 (all the ones i have owned was 5)
