My 1994 325is was reset to a 4 digit radio code instead of the original 5 digit radio code after the battery was disconected for repairs. I have the 5 number code but only four dashes! What can I do?

Radio Codes

A dealer will have this code based on the Vin. How ever if you have the original owners manual it should be in it.

How do I get the code to unlock my radio?

Unless somebody wrote the code down in your owners manual, you will have to take it to the dealer. They will push a series of buttons, get a code out of the radio, then call the factory to get the unlock code. I'm sure there is an associated fee involved.

Need radio code for 1994 BMW 530i

remove the radio call in the model and serial number to the dealer, or take it down to them if it's really close, but bring your title too.
You then have an hour and a half job ahead of you, not work but you'll have to wait an hour and a half.
After you get the code, turn the key on Acc for 1.5 hrs and the radio will prompt for a 4 digit code. key it in and voila....tunes instead of YOU singing.

Inputting code into radio does not unlock it. What to do? I am original owner, so I know this is the right 5 digit code...but car was dead for a while in my garage, and that radio just will not unlock.

most likely you have inputed the code several times and it has completly locked up. The only way to unlocked it would be trying to leave the stereo on for about an hour so it can reset it self and then retry to put the code in

I have the five digit code for my 1992 BMW 325is but do not know how to enter!!! Even my mechanics who have worked on the car are clueless. Help!!

You will need to take your registration for the car and ID with you for proof of ownership with you to the dealership.

Take the headset to my BMW dealer and verify that you own this radio and then, they will look for the unlock code on their computers, of course after getting a specific serial # that’s placed on the back of the radio.

1997 chervolet venture radio reset codes

I had the same problem with a 97 transport. Here is a couple solution to your locked radio problem. This is assuming you have the ACDelco radio original to the vehicle. One way is to allow the vehicle to warm for an hour. After warming the vehicle press either the 1/2 or 3/4 or 5/6 buttons together. In two on the sequences, a three digit code will come up. Write these codes down. I called the original seller of the vehicle, (if known) or a GM dealer. Speak with the parts or service department. They do not have the 4 digit code to unlock the stereo, though they can make a call to ACDelco and get the code. The other way is to take it to a dealer and have them erase the code, which is approx. 30-50 dollar depending on the service station. Hope this helps.

Lock code for radio cassette

After failing to enter the correct code in 3 successive tries, you must leave the key in the "ignition on" position with the radio on. This will allow you 3 more tries to reset the 5 digit code.
If you enter an erroneous digit, you must complete the 5 digit code, even though it is wrong. You have 2 more attempts to enter the correct code.
