The oil pressure switch on a 2005 Isuzu Dmax with a 3.0L engine is located on the engine block, near the oil filter. Here are some steps to locate the oil pressure switch:

1. Locate the oil filter on the engine block. The oil pressure switch is typically located close to the oil filter.
2. Look for a small electrical connector attached to a sensor located on the engine block. The oil pressure switch will have an electrical connector attached to it, which distinguishes it from other sensors located in the same area.
3. Follow the wire from the electrical connector to the oil pressure switch. The oil pressure switch will have a wire leading from the electrical connector to the switch itself.

Once you have located the oil pressure switch, you can replace it if it is faulty or damaged. It is important to ensure that the engine is not running and that the oil has cooled down before attempting to replace the switch to avoid injury. The oil pressure sensor/switch is hidden behind the engine sight shield.

1. Remove the engine sight shield.
2. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
3. Using J41712 sensor socket or equivalent, remove the oil pressure sensor.

The oil pressure sensor is located on the side of the oil pan and actually reads pressure from the oil pump.

On 3.0L OHV engines, the oil pressure sensor is located on the left side of the engine block above the flywheel. On 3.0L DOHC engines the sensor is located on the left side of the engine block above the oil filter. On 3.4L DOHC engines the sensor is screwed into the oil filter adapter. The oil pressure sensor operates the oil pressure warning lamp.

1. Remove the engine sight shield.
2. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
3. Using J 41712 or equivalent, remove the oil pressure sensor.

To install:

1. Apply sealant to the threads of the oil pressure sensor.
2. Using J 41712 or equivalent, install the oil pressure sensor.
   1. Tighten the sensor to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).
   
   
3. Connect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
4. Install the engine sight shield.

The oil light on your car has nothing to do with oil level in the crankcase but rather oil pressure. The oil pressure switch/sensor is located on the rear of the engine block above the right axle I believe. Unless you have engine noise or suspect low oil pressure, I'd replace it but you could check oil pressure for peace of mind with an pressure gauge if you wish. You may need a special socket to replace it.
