I have 67 plate bmw with xenon lights what do I have to do for driving in europe

Hi, Most of europe drive on right hand side excluding U/K. France wants your headlight to be yellow, as a visitor they do not normally bother about this rule to much. However should you want to yellow you headlights, most car spare shops sell a small spray that you can use, This is accepted all over Europe. For U/K at spares shop they sell a kit that you stick onto your headlights which moves main beam to left hand driving it sticks on front outside of headlights. Please leave me feed back Malcolm Campbell, [email protected] Thanks.

Aiming headlights 2002 Passat

I think that what you've read is fairly accurate, unfortunately. Sometimes people think that the headlights need to be aimed though, when they need cleaning/ polishing. If the lens surface is no longer clean and clear, the lights won't perform nearly as well.

Left headlight (adjustment screws for right headlight are mirror image):
1 - Lateral adjustment 2 - Height adjustment
  • Access adjustment screws through hole in lock carrier (Phillips head or socket head).
  • Turn the adjusting screws for lateral adjustment -1- and height adjustment -2- until the correct setting is achieved.
NOTE: Where equipped, ensure equal movement/function of headlights during automatic headlight range adjustment.

Can i adjust the headlights on a Merc. B Class myself for driving in europe?

on each headlamp assembly, there will be either one or two plastic nuts that you can turn.

If you only have one nut on each, that will adjust the vertical aim of the headlights.

If you have two nuts on each, one will adjust the vertical and the other will adjust the horizontal.

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

Also, when you said for driving in Europe, is this a European car or are you importing this car? If you are importing, you will have to change your headlight assembly to conform with ECE specs and not DOT (North American) specs

Can the headlights on 2006 range rover be adjusted for europe

Depends....
If your car is right hand drive and you're taking it to another location that is right hand drive, then it will be fine the way it is.
However, if your car is right hand drive and you take it to another location that is left hand drive, then you cannot use those headlights. The reflector and projector assembly of a right hand drive car is designed to throw more light towards the passenger side of the vehicle (where your road signs would be)

Hit a dog. headlight is out of adjustment

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

For Low Beams: If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

For High Beams (if separate from low beams): Aim the headlight directly at the line you marked on the wall.
